What type of nylon are Avery Dennison Cable Ties manufactured from?

Most of our ties are made from Nylon 6/6.


What temperature ranges can your cable ties operate under?

Natural: -40oF to 1850F (-400C to 85oC) Weather Resistant: -40oF to 185oF (-40oC to 85oC) Heat Stablized: -40oF to 221oF (-40oC to 105oC)


Which type of cable tie is recommended for use in direct sunlight?

Weather Resistant


To what tension number should I set my Avery DennisonTM Cable Tie Installation tool?

This varies for the type of tie used. Our bags specify the tension setting for each cross section.


What advantages do Avery DennisonTM Super Bar-Lok® cable ties offer?

Greater petro chemical resistance. More resistance to environmental extremes. Higher tensile strength per cross section.


What standards do Avery DennisonTM cable ties adhere to?

Avery DennisonTM is ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certified, and our cable ties meet and exceed standards set by UL Military Specifictions.


What applications are Avery DennisonTM cable ties commonly used?

What if I have a quality problem with your cable ties?

In the rare instance of a quality problem, trained quality assurance specialists and engineers are always available for support.


Why are there two different adhesives for your Cable Ties Mounts?

Our mounts are available in both rubber and acrylic adhesives. Acrylic adhesive is used for applications where a higher temperature performance is needed, and they have a longer set and higher strength than our rubber adhesive mount.


Why don't Avery DennisonTM cable ties have CSA approval?

There is currently no CSA specification for cable ties. We do, however, meet UL specifications for cable ties.


Do your ties have a V-0 flammability rating?

We do have a line of V-0 rated cable ties that meet UL V-0 specifications. Our standard ties meet UL V-2 standards.


Can your cable ties be recycled?

Yes.


Is there latex or DNR (dry natural rubber) in your cable ties?

No.


Are your cable ties oil resistant? Are they chlorine-free and anti-fungus? Do they outgas?

Yes to all!


True or False: Avery DennisonTM Ladder Ties cannot be strong because they have holes in them.

False. Our patented stretching technology strengthens the molecular structure using less material.


What is the warrenty on your 08480 Cable Tie Installation Tool?

Avery DennisonTM warrants that the tool is useful for installing Military Specification approved cable ties, miniature, intermediate and standard sizes, in accordance with Avery DennisonTM Operator Instructions but makes no other express warranties, nor may any other be implied. If the tool fails to operate correctly, or should it become defective in need of repair, it may be returned to Avery DennisonTM together with this card, postage prepaid and it will be repaired or replaced free of charge. All installation tools returned for repair with our a warranty card (photocopies not accepted) or not adhering to warranty specifications* will be repaired for a fee of $12.95. The warranty card is valid for up to one year after the date of purchase.


If I switch cable tie manufacturers, do I need to purchase new instalation tools?

No. Most manual hand tools for cable tie manufacturers are interchangeable.
