Hundreds of thousands of companies are using millions of labels every day. With such a market, there are many opportunities to maximize operational efficiencies and streamline processes. At Texpak, our goal is to help our customers find the best solutions to their business needs and get the most out of their tools and personnel. Below you’ll find many of the tools we recommend our customers use to get the most out of their operations. REWINDERS
A rewinder is the required accessory if labels need to be rewound for later application. Texpak’s top selling rewinder is the GLR. GLR rewinders are extremely versatile and are compatible with all thermal printers. They rewind labels at speeds up to 24″ per second and the electronic speed control automatically synchronizes winding speed to the speed of the sprinter. Labels can be wound face “in” or face “out”. The GLR-50 handles label widths of 1″ – 4″ with a maximum roll diameter of 9″, and the GLR-100 handles label widths of 1″ – 9″ with a max roll diameter of 12″.
APPLICATORS
Hand held applicators do repetitive labeling in a fraction of the time it takes to do it by hand. All applicators accept a maximum roll diameter of 3.93″ with an inner core of 1″. Labels can be between .78″ and 2.36″ long and the maximum width of the label can vary from 1.2″ to 3.9″ depending on the model used.
DISPENSERS
Label dispensers feed labels so that they can be easily handled and attached to products. Texpak carries a full line of both manual and automatic dispensers.
MANUAL DISPENSERS
The MDL dispensers can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. The operator pulls the liner forward so that the label partially releases from the liner. This makes it easy to pick the label off the liner and apply it to the product or package.
These dispensers can handle rolls of up to 7″ in diameter on either a 1″ or 3″ core. Perfect for dispensing “inspected by”, “size”, and “defect” stickers. Many of our customers also use Velcro tape on the bottom to secure them to a specific work area.
Machines are available in the following widths:
- MDL25 – 3 ” wide
- MDL45 – 4 1/2″ wide
- MDL65 – 6 1/2″ wide
- MDL85 – 8 1/2″ wide
- MDL125 – 12 1/2″ wide
ELECTRIC DISPENSERS
Electrical label dispensers automatically feed a label into position when the prior label has been removed. These types of dispensers vary in terms of the width of labels they can handle and how the presence of a label is sensed. There are three type of label sensors:
- Mechanical – Mechanical sensors stop the movement of the labels when the label touches the sensor.
- Photo – Photo sensors are good for opaque labels as they sense the difference in color between the label and the backing.
- Optical – Optical sensors are the most sensitive and accurate and can detect transparent, miniature, metallic and opaque labels.
Texpak offers many other dispensers in addition to the ones shown below.
MECHANICAL SENSOR – UL-45 AND UL-60
As the label is removed the machine automatically peels, releases and advances the following label. It will dispense most standard labels without difficulty. The U-45 unit accepts labels up to 4 1/2″ wide while the U-60 accepts labels up to 6″ wide.
PHOTO SENSOR – KL-100 AND KL-150
Operates with photo-sensor reliability so there is no hair trigger to adjust. These units have the ability to dispense all types of die-cut and butt cut labels. Equally important, no tolls are required for label changeovers or size adjustments, and no operator training is required. The KL-100 handles labels up to 4 1/2″ wide with a maximum roll diameter of 9″ while the KL-150 is for labels from 3/8′ wide to 6″ wide and 5/8″ long to 8″ long and also takes a maximum roll diameter of 9″.
OPTICAL SENSOR – SH404TR AND SH402
Top of the line dispenser with optical sensor. The SH404TR peels, releases and advances all types of butt cut and die-cut labels that are either opaque or transparent. It accepts either rolled or fan-folded labels, and it doesn’t matter if the labels are large, small, opaque, transparent, irregularly shaped or round. The SH404TR can feed them all. Like the KL series, no adjustments are required for label changeover. The SH404TR is designed for regular size labels and can handle a label as small as 3/8″ x 5/8″ up to a 6″ x 8″ label. The maximum roll diameter is 6″. The SH402 is for miniature die-cut and butt cut labels and label sizes can range from 13/64 x 25/64 up to 2″ x 5″. The maximum roll diameter is also 6″.
